Sharp Air Purifier Review

November 29th, 2009

Launching our first Air Purifier Review - 5-Key Factors Model, we begin with the Sharp Air Purifier Review.

In our earlier post, we dealt at great depth about the Scientific Peer Review that is conspicuously missing in the ionic air purifier market. Correspondingly, we have added Scientific Peer Review as a fifth key factor in our model. This is notwithstanding that it will be a blank space. We would be thrilled if the empty space will set off a budding scientist to produce the first independent scientific peer review for an ionic air purifier technology. If I want to be noticed, being the first with a scientific peer review in a multi-million industry seems a clear choice. It would be no surprise if every marketer of an ionic air purifier will then quote me!

Our Sharp Air Purifier Review, comprising several articles, will cover the various aspects of the Air Purifier Review - 5-Key Factors Model i.e.:

(1) Safety – in relation to the reactive agent
(2) Safety – in relation to by-products
(3) Efficacy – the reactive agents work in the laboratory
(4) Efficiency – the reactive agents work in the real world
(5) Scientific Peer Review.

Soon to be a century old, Sharp is a Japanese company with a solid track record. That is so critical In business, which is why we picked Sharp for our first review. The introductory article of our Sharp Air Purifier Review at Ezine.com provides a brief history of Sharp Corporation and includes a concise overview of their unique ionic air purification technology.

Quite apart from an impressive history, what caught our attention was the fact that Sharp seems to be genuinely interested in being transparent with information. Not complete transparency, but enough to outshine others.

Sharp Air Purifier Review – Unusual Insight of Marketing Strategy

What can be more transparent than revealing the marketing strategy for Plasmacluster Ion Technology? Amazing! Sharp detailed its phased marketing approach on 16 January 2009 as follows:

(a) Phase I

Intensive efforts on research and development resulting in the roll-out of Plasmacluster Ion technology in air purifiers, air conditioners, refrigerators, cyclonic vacuum cleaners, washers/dryers and LED lightings.

(b) Phase II

Focus on “academic marketing”, a method that obtains scientific evidence of the efficacy of a certain technology through cooperative research with leading academic organisations and marketing consumer products based on this proof. Sharp worked with 13 academic research organizations globally to scientifically demonstrate the efficacy of Plasmacluster Ion technology against 27 pathogens and harmful substances, including allergens, mold, odors and airborne bacteria and viruses.

(c) Phase III

Sharp is now moving towards demonstrating the effectiveness of the technology in actual living spaces. Sharp announced on 16 January 2009 that 24 companies will be incorporating Plasmacluster Ion technology in their product lines.

These include whole house air conditioning system, commercial air conditioning and heating duct systems for hotels and hospitals, smoke control systems, car air conditioners, railcars, elevators, toilets, electric bathroom heater/ventilator/dryer, gas fan heater, mist sauna, air sanitizer, etc.

Our Sharp Air Purifier Review include several articles. These comprise an overview of the patent-pending Plasmacluster Ion technology, a look at what actually went into the “academic marketing” that Sharp has carefully honed into an art and also a peek into their future. Sharp’s definition of academic marketing is in our Ezine article, accessible via the widget on our blog.

No announcements have been made but it seems fairly obvious that Sharp intends to monopolize the ionic air purifier industry. Their massive investment in the ever-improving state-of-the-art technology and their intense determination in academic marketing leave no doubt in our minds that they will thrive, sooner rather than later.

Do follow our continuing, Sharp Air Purifier Review at The Ionic Air Purifier Blog.

Dental Health Should be a Primary Concern For Everyone…

November 29th, 2009

When dental health is the topic, I can see images of teeth running inside my mind. Nothing more than visions of teeth - healthy and not, then I started to realize, it is not just about teeth but the underlying tissues and bones. I have been missing a lot because I have focused myself on just caring for my teeth.

When we say dental health, it should be the entire oral cavity. It is not just caring for your pearly whites, you might be missing a lot, like me and my very little knowledge about it. I have learned through research that you may have really white teeth with the crowns unblemished but you can’t really tell if it is healthy. I have encountered once, a patient waiting in the dental reception sharing to me his story what terrible condition he has. I can see his teeth almost brilliant white and he told me he is totally caries-free. A portable oral irrigator can be useful when travelling.

So what could be the problem? It startled me when he actually pushed his incisors with his tongue and I saw the incisors literally moved into slanting position. And then it suddenly came to me, he has putrid breath too. I can see how sorry he is having overlooked his dental obligations because aside from time constraints, he thought his dental health is perfect. This is a really pitiful situation but I couldn’t tell him anything that could calm him, at this point when I am so unsure even of my own condition. An oral irrigator can help to fight / prevent gum disease

I tried to consult every search engine and it is surprising to find out that what could have gotten the case worse is improper oral hygiene practice. But of course there could be certain conditions that have aggravated the situation. It is funny how we have lived our lives with our oral cavity and how little do we know about it.  Learn how to stop gum disease before it is too late.

Disclaimer: If you have or think you might have gum disease or any other health problem, please visit your doctor or periodontist for advice, diagnosis and treatment. Dental Disease is Dreadful…

November 29th, 2009

gum disease

There is a rampant occurrence of gum disease worldwide.  It may be suggestive of a lifestyle problem.  We tend to be too preoccupied, with what seems to be equally important, but you have to know how destructive gum disease could be to our total wellbeing.  Products like Oramd, might help.

You may hear experts say that just because you brush and floss regularly you become less susceptible to gum disease.  And upon research I found out that it is not merely brushing, flossing and visiting your dentist regularly that saves you from the dreadful inflammation of gums and its detachment to the bones that hold the teeth.

Good and proper oral hygiene practices could spare your gums, too.  In a magazine I have read, it says, good oral hygiene when practiced properly gives back highly satisfactory results.  A friend confirmed that, too.

She had really bad case, imagine blood lubricating her oral cavity instead of just saliva and it is foul smelling, too.  It’s really unsightly but I am proud to say that she is doing what she can to reverse the problem. There is a fine set of mouthwashes made by therabreath that might be helpful.

Socially, it has wounded her but she is starting to pull herself back together.  Gingivitis could really go out of hand with neglect.  It can cause recession of gums and reducing the bones that hold the teeth in place.  Can you imagine how painful that is?  It is thrice more painful than a decaying tooth.

Some people wonder why, despite their religious biannual visits to the hygienist, their gums are still red and flabby.  Gingivitis is a serious, fast-progressing and life threatening condition. The hydrofloss is something that some hygienists recommend!

Research says that using some products could do more harm than good.  For instance, the floss - it is just a piece of thread, you might think but when used improperly - it could destroy the continuity of your gums thus causing gum recession leading to tooth mobility and worse, tooth extraction.

Tips to Have a Happy Dental Experience

November 29th, 2009

Have you ever stopped to wonder why so many people dislike going to the dentist’s office? Many people find even a basic checkup to be painful.

Before having your teeth cleaned, one of the dental hygienist’s duties is to check the health of your gum tissue. He will undoubtedly look at your pocket depths. You can then ask about using an oral irrigator known as the hydrofloss.

Here, for some people is where the trouble begins. When gum tissue is diseased, it feels a lot like someone shoving pins into your gum tissue. However, healthy gum tissue does not have that problem. Normally, dental probing will not invoke pain with healthy gum tissue.

So, if you are one of those who feels that the doctor or hygienist is shoving pins directly into your gums, it is very likely that you have some gum disease. Ask your dentist to verify and diagnose the condition.

Unfortunately, some dentists do not spend a lot of time educating patients about this problem. That situation can lead to greater problems for the patient.

Yet, after the problem has progressed to a certain point, they will offer you a special ‘deep cleaning’ or other relatively expensive treatment to help take care of your problem. Alternatively, they may refer you out to a periodontist for possible gum grafts or surgery. There is a nice oxygenated mouthwash called therabreath that might be helpful.

I can not imagine that sounds good to anyone reading this. Therefore, I might suggest that you focus more on the prevention of gum disease or stopping its progression once it starts.

Many people are surprised that they have gum disease. If the statistics are accurate, there should be no surprise. Those numbers tell us that up to 80% of people have some form of gum disease. Oramd is an interesting possibility. Learn what you can do to prevent this potentially costly problem from visiting you and our family. Learn to prevent gum disease or stop its progression today. Pets Love To Jump Into Fans

November 29th, 2009

Cat On Fan

It would seem that many pets are loving to ride the ceiling fans that we have in our homes. What is it about the fans that attracts animals to it?

Bugs

It looks like most cases involve something like a moth which of course cats are always interested in catching. The thing is, many fans have lights on them too so when these are on they attract all of the bugs including the moths. Cats will notice these creatures when they look up. Animals will always try to catch the smaller insects either for fun or because they are in their home or of course because they are hungry.

This usually ends up being just fine but there are some cases where th fan is on and the poor animal jumps straight into it.

High Flyers

If you happen to keep birds in your home and you let them have a bit of a fly around sometimes then make sure you switch all of the fans off. Of course birds have amazing senses which is why they shouldnt be flying into the fans but it can be diffiuclt not to in a small room. Birds often make mistakes?

Curiosity

The saying goes curiosity killed the cat and it is really possible with this. Although exploring comes naturally to all of the smaller animals it is actually a big problem as they will try to get to everything. This includes the ceiling fan so the best thing to do is keep an eye on your younger pet to make sure those spinning metal blades to not prove to be a problem.

Although there are various things fitted into fan accessories to make sure these things do not happen there are sometimes difficulties when it comes to solenoids or even the multicore cables.

Animal Pain Relief and Rehabilitation To Give Hope To Pets No Matter WHat

November 29th, 2009

Last year, my sister looked after my Labrador, Mina when I went to Mexico. My sister said that she forgot all about Mina when she was at the beach with some of her friends. The following day when she came home and did not see Mina anywhere, she realized that she left the dog at the beach. When I got home and learned what had happened, I was worried that my pet would need extensive animal pain relief once she returns. However, my sister waited for me to return first before she put up the lost signs. Then suddenly, my beloved dog appeared in my front door after two weeks of searching almost everywhere. Pet Arthritis

I was both happy and sad when I saw Mina. I was excited to see her back home. Then I noticed that she was in real bad shape and was thin. She had several wounds all over her body and was limping. After cleaning and feeding her, I decided that My Mina will be needing special attention. I quickly searched for a veterinary clinic in the Internet that specializes in animal pain relief and rehabilitation.

I was happy to that I bumped into Dr. Ava Frick’s Animal Fitness Center. {Ava Frick’s Animal Fitness Center.} I was welcomed by assistants who accommodated me and showed concern for my Mina. It was the best time to visit the clinic as Dr. Ava Frick was available and accommodated my beloved pet quickly. She also told me about animal pain relief and rehabilitation and what my pet needs in order to hasten her recuperation from the trauma and pain that she has been through. Pet Water Treadmill

In just a few weeks of animal pain relief and rehabilitation, which entails chiropractic massage, hydro and magnetic therapy, as well as nutritional support, my Mina has recovered wonderfully. She returned to her happy and active self. She even looked radiant and reergernized. I was very delighted with the effectivity of the animal pain relief stategies from Animal Fitness Center. In fact, my Mina is so healthy and beautiful now that a lot of people praise her and notice her whenever we are at the park or the beach. With the exciting experience I got, I would recommend the animal relief clinic to my friends and colleagues. Animal Chiropractic

Three Essential Tips on Choosing a Cat Or Kitten

November 29th, 2009

Buying a new cat or a kitten can often be an impulsive action. Once you see a new cat, more especially a kitten, it is hard to resist their charm; this makes it important you answer a few important questions before you finally make your choice.

Just before I continue on my merry way I would like to make it clear that I am not the owner of a pet store and I do not even work with cats. I personally work as a speech coach primarily helping people who have stuttering problems. I also work on a part time basis on projects to do with DVD duplication and offering a cost reduction strategy.

Cat or Kitten?

First establish whether you want a fully grown cat or a kitten. Let’s face it there is nothing more cute and cuddly than a new born kitten. Straight from the moment they are introduced to the world they are just adorable. There are the inevitable down sides as well, as there is with everything of course; a kitten can destroy parts of your house such as furniture and they tend to leave their “business” behind the sofa (or maybe this is just my kitten). For people who do not feel that they could cope with these type of issues then it may well be more sensible to choose an older and more mature cat.

Older cats are invariably already domesticated and will have some established behaviour patterns. Ideally you should try and discuss with the previous owner details about the eating habits, disposition, toilet behaviour and any other habits the new cat may have.

Male or Female?

There is a widespread belief that male cats are usually more independent and females are more friendly and loving towards their owners, however there is little difference in behaviour between the sexes once they have been neutered. Unless you intending to let your cat breed, neutering is advisable as this will result in a better pet with less “anti social” habits which are associated with cats used for breeding.

Pedigree or Non-Pedigree?

An important advantage of pedigree cats is that you can usually easier to predict the sort of cat you are going to end up with, especially how it will look and to some extent what temperament it may have.

If you intend showing or using your cat for breeding purposes then you should buy a cat that has a proven pedigree.

Their will obviously be more factors you will need to take into consideration and there is a wealth of useful information to help you, this can come from magazines and books, friends and other cat owners, the internet or your local vet.

The Beauty And Joy Of Owning A Dog

November 29th, 2009

My family run an animal sanctuary in Birmingham, England. Even though we love what we do, we feel that some people need to realise that a pet should be a long term commitment. They should not be seen as just a bit of fun which they can then get rid of when they get bored.

In more recent years I have started to become less and less involved with the running of the sanctuary. I work in other sectors including composite doors, offering how to stop stuttering course and advising people about becoming a foster carer.

Many people arrive at the animal sanctuary with their pets, which are mainly dogs, with many excuses as to why they are no longer able to look after or care for them. I am sure many of their reasons are valid but am also aware that many others are just an excuse to offload them.

The excuses they give are varied:

I have recently divorced from my husband and can no longer afford to keep this dog as a pet.

The dog has started to bite my children

The dog is too difficult to handle and is destroying my furniture

We have recently moved into a flat. One of their rules is that no animals can live in these flats

I have had complaints from the local residents as they say that the dog barks too much

Our other animals do not like the dog

The dog is affecting my health

I am too ill to look after my dog

We also keep many of the dogs as our own pets, especially the ones which nobody else seems to want. I would have to say that my favourite out of all of these dogs is a dog called Cassie. She is full of life and has been ill treated it seems when she was a puppy. Half of her left ear is missing and she is seemingly quite afraid of men.

At the outset Cassie had to be treated with a lot of love and sincerity as she had a real lack of trust in human beings. She can be too lively at times which is possibly why three people who attempted to re-home her, have bought her back. She is not aggressive in any way but does tend to jump up at people.

Cassie has proven to be a welcome addition to our family and she is now really starting to feel at home; she certainly loves all of the toys that we have bought her.

With a little more patience most other dogs can turn out this way. This is why we want more people to take more responsibility and to give their animals more of a chance to settle into their homes, and to get used to a new set of rules.

Cats Bonding With Their Owners

November 29th, 2009

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

There’s a lot of experts out there who say that felines are strictly independent animals. These same experts state that felines have selected to associate with humans due to their strategy of survival. Although plenty of argue with this statement, there’s plenty of who agree as well – although those that agree are normally those in the percentile who don’t agree with felines.

Although plenty of experts have tried to figure it out, no two knows why felines pick a particular person whom they will bond with. It could be the individual’s manners, voice, or basically how that person treats the cat. Perhaps it may be the individual is gentle, or maybe a small more forceful – bringing the best out in the cat.

Somebody who has owned a cat will tell you that felines are great at bonding with people, although they are particular. Normally, a cat will pick somebody in the home that they bonds with. You’ll know when a cat wants to bond with you, as they will hop on your lap seeking attention or snuggle up to you at night when you are sleeping. Purring is a strong sign of affections, with felines that are looking to bond.

There’s a lot of ways that researchers have tried to take this subject, two of which being psychic. Some say that felines bond with somebody due to a “psychic aura” that is compatible with both the person and the cat. If a cat feels that somebody is giving them a bad vibe, they will basically ignore that person. Although this can be true to a sense for some, a majority of those who own felines will tell you that this couldn’t be any further from the truth.

Even though there’s a lot of theories and speculation out there, no two knows why felines bond with humans. There’s small to no proof available as well, other than felines and their natural instinct for physical survival. Those who own felines know that felines crave attention, basically to make them feel needed. They love to be pampered by their owners, and will shower you with attention and affection if you give them the chance.

Those who are new to owning felines may find bonding to be different. Felines are different from other animals, including canines, in the sense that they bond different. Different breeds of felines will bond different with their owners, although most prefer affection and attention. The more time you spend around your cat, the more they will bond with you. Over the years, you’ll find that the bond you generate with your pet has grown strong – and basically cannot be broken.

An In Depth Look At Siamese Cats

November 29th, 2009

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

The exotic and somewhat mysterious Siamese cat hails from the country of Thailand. They had always been a popular breed of cats, some even residing in royal palaces. Siamese cats, in the past, were trusted to protect royal palaces and monasteries from evil spirits. These cats were also thought of as bringing good fortune to their owners as well.

During the year of 1884, the very first Siamese cats began to make their way to England, when they were given as gifts to a British general. After that, they eventually made their way over to America. Now days, Siamese cats are one of the most recognized of the breed. Siamese cats are without a doubt the most popular short haired cat and among the top 3 in the entire breed of cats.

Even though there are several different colors to this breed, some questions what makes a cat a true Siamese cat. These cats have always been known for their bodies which are lighter in color, with darker areas throughout. The more darker areas found on their bodies are normally around the feet, tail, legs, or face. They can weight anywhere between 6 - 16 lbs, with bright eyes that are normally slanted - which is another clue that the cat is a true Siamese.

Traditionally, Siamese cats are robust, with round heads and a truly muscular build. They are well known throughout the world for their color points and unique personalities. Unlike other breeds, Siamese breeds have a talent for communicating with people. If you are looking for a cat that is nice and quiet, you wouldn’t want a Siamese cat. These cats love to play, love to make noise, and they also happen to be the most social breed of cats out there.

Siamese cats demand a lot of attention, because in their minds, they believe that the world revolves around them. For this very reason, they can tend be quite dependant on their owners. They love to play, and crave interaction. If you leave them alone for too long, they won’t like it. They like to get attention, love to play, and hate to be left by themselves.

Even though Siamese cats are emotionally high maintenance, they don’t need a lot of maintenance They need a minimum amount of grooming, which involves bathing every once in a while, and brushing maybe once or twice a month. If you like cats with minimal maintenance, Siamese cats are perfect. Their hair is short to their skin, so a gentle brushing is all you need. They can get sick however, which is to be expected with any breed of cat.

Siamese cats have a life span that is similar to other breeds, which is normally around 15 - 20 years, sometimes even longer. As long as you feed him on a daily basis and take him to the vet for his regular checkups and shots, he will be around for years and years to come. Most people who have their Siamese cat for over 10 years, find the cat to be more like a child than a pet.

No matter how you look at it, a Siamese cat is a great pet. Although the Siamese breed does require a lot of attention, they are excellent pets that you can spend a lot of time with. They are great for kids as well, simply because kids can spend a lot of time with them. As long as you give your pet the attention he craves - he will be your life long friend for as long as you have him.
